The key aims of the CETA Market Access Program are to:
- provide vital informational resources to enable EU businesses to take advantage of the market access opportunities in Canada that will be generated under the CETA, and
- provide the EU with necessary tools to provide relevant support.
A Study Report is under development which focuses on the real access that EU companies have in the Canadian market. This report will address trade and investment access for EU enterprises from two perspectives:
- general access at national and provincial/territorial levels; and
- CETA-specific access at national and provincial/territorial levels.
The CETA does not cover all matters relating to market access for EU enterprises, and it is therefore necessary to understand how the opportunities and other implications of the CETA fit into the context of the Canadian market as it currently exists. Establishing this foundation will facilitate an analysis of how the CETA will enhance and modify market access for EU stakeholders.
Market access in all geographic regions throughout Canada will be assessed from both the federal and sub-federal perspectives. This assessment will include the implications for large enterprises and SMEs alike.
This study will be published on the EUCCAN website. The estimated date of publication is November 2017.
